Course Description -- Spanish Level 3 Class
The Spanish Level 3 class is for students who have previously taken our Level 2 class or who have the equivalent of 50-60 hours of Spanish instruction taken in a larger group setting. Students who have taken more than 60 hours in the past, yet are uncertain if this is the right class for them, can call us for an assessment of their Spanish language abilities. This Spanish class will start with a short review of the contents covered in the Level 2 class. In this lower intermediate class you will consolidate your Spanish language skills. You will learn how to speak Spanish learning more complex sentence structures by using not only the indicative but also the subjunctive. Reading of small articles and texts covering geographical topics, social issues, history and customs of Spanish speaking countries is used to build additional vocabulary, enhance speaking abilities and further enlarge your knowledge of different people and cultures in the Hispanic world. Grammar taught covers prepositions, prepositional, direct and indirect object pronouns, affirmative and negative words, irregular verbs in the preterit and the uses of the subjunctive. Our small class size - on average 6 students per class - will make the difference when learning Spanish. You only can learn Spanish if you actually try to speak it! With us you will have the opportunity to speak and practice at least 100% more as if you were sitting in a classroom with 12-15 students. Good language instruction depends on quality instructors and quality speaking time. |
